When a spider lays its eggs it wraps it's eggs in a sac and keeps on wrapping until it is hooked onto it's web. An egg sac can hold up to over one million eggs. An egg sac that holds that many eggs would probably be a little less than an inch wide. When the babies come out they immediately make a thin piece of web and float away on it like a balloon.
